A plain link carries the calculation in its own address: nothing is stored on CalcTrail, it never expires, and whoever opens it gets a calculator of their own with your numbers in it. An expiring link is a view-only copy that works for 7, 15 or 30 days, or for 60 or 90 days if you are signed in when you create it. The Share window suggests the one that suits the calculation.
Neither kind changes your own data. A plain link opens in the recipient's own calculator, where they can change the numbers and keep the result as theirs. If they already have that calculator open with numbers of their own, the link opens beside it in a tab marked From link, and theirs is left as it was. An expiring link opens a view-only copy: they can try other numbers, but nothing they change is saved. From there, Go to Full Calculator opens the values on screen in a calculator of their own. A keypad calculator's tape stays in the shared view.

An expiring link, yes, if you are signed in. Open My Shares from your account menu, find the link, and delete it. It stops working immediately, and sharing that tab again later gives it a new link rather than switching the old one back on. An expiring link created without an account cannot be revoked early: it stops working when it expires. A plain link cannot be revoked at all, because it holds the numbers itself, so anyone who has it can open it.
Yes. Anyone can create either kind of link. Without an account, an expiring link lasts 30 days at most. The ones you create are listed in the Share window, in this browser only, and removing one from that list does not stop the link working.
A keypad calculator's tape (Basic, Scientific, RPN) and anything too long for an address, such as a long text in the Token Converter. For those the Share window suggests an expiring link. A plain link still shares a keypad calculator's current values, without the tape.
Yes, anyone who has the link. The numbers and any names you typed are in the link itself: written out in plain view for some calculators, and packed for the rest, which is not encryption. They are not sent to CalcTrail: the part of an address after the # stays in the browser.
For some calculators, yes. A plain link from the Loan Calculator ends in something like #amount=25000&rate=6.5&term=4: change a number in the address, open it, and the calculator opens with that number. A name the calculator does not know is left out, and it tells you which. Other calculators pack their values into one block that is not meant to be edited; change the numbers in the calculator and share again.
