Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using CalcTrail, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

Every calculator can be used without an account, at any age. Accounts are for people aged 18 or older (see User Accounts below).

Quick Summary

  • Free to Use: CalcTrail is free for personal, educational, professional, and commercial calculation work. What you may not do is copy, resell, or redistribute the platform itself.
  • Service Reliability: The platform is provided "as is" without guarantees of uninterrupted service or perfect accuracy.
  • Analytics & Search: one cookieless tool (Ahrefs Web Analytics) counts page views and a fixed list of feature events for all visitors; switch it off in Settings → Analytics. Your searches are kept in your own browser and are not sent to us.
  • Your Data: You retain ownership of your data; we process it only to provide the service and features you use.
  • Account Responsibility: You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and activity.

Use License

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use CalcTrail, and the results it produces, for any calculation you need to make. That covers personal, educational, professional, and commercial work alike: an engineer sizing a beam, an accountant checking a loan, and a student doing homework are all within the license, at no charge and with no account required. What the license does not do is transfer ownership of the platform, so under it you may not:

  • Copy, modify, or redistribute the platform or its content without permission
  • Resell, sublicense, republish, or otherwise commercially exploit the platform, its content, or its calculators as a product or service of your own
  • Attempt to reverse engineer any software contained in CalcTrail
  • Remove any copyright or other proprietary notices from the materials
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content beyond what standard search engines do

User Accounts

When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You must be 18 or older to create an account, and signing up asks you to confirm that you are. If you are under 18 and already have one, please delete it in Settings → Plan & Data → Danger Zone, or ask us by email to delete it for you. Every calculator stays available to you without an account.

Data Collection and Analytics

CalcTrail uses one analytics tool, Ahrefs Web Analytics, to see which pages and features are used and to guide improvements. It is cookieless: it sets no cookies, writes nothing to your device, and assigns you no persistent identifier, so there is no cookie banner. It runs for every visitor on calctrail.com unless you switch it off in Settings → Analytics or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, which we honour. It is not loaded for a visit that starts from a share link.

It sees page views and a fixed list of feature events — for example, that a calculator was opened or a result was exported — never your calculation values, account details, or search text. The complete list of events and their properties is in our Privacy Policy.

What this means:

  • We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, cookielessly, to count page views and feature events
  • Analytics collects no personal information, calculation values, or anything that identifies you across visits
  • The data is aggregated and used only to improve the service
  • You can switch analytics off at any time in Settings → Analytics
  • Analytics runs only on calctrail.com, never in development environments

Search Query Storage

Global Search keeps your last few searches in your own browser so it can offer them again:

  • Everyone: your recent searches stay in your browser (localStorage) and are never sent to our servers
  • Before September 2026: searches made while signed in were also stored with the account; that stopped on 2 September 2026, and the old records can be deleted from Settings → Search
  • Control: switch the recent-searches list off in Settings → Search at any time, which also offers to clear it

Your choices: analytics has an on/off switch in Settings → Analytics, and the recent-searches list has its own in Settings → Search. Every feature of the app works the same whichever you choose.

Prohibited Uses

You may not use CalcTrail:

  • In any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
  • To transmit any malicious code or viruses
  • To attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • To interfere with or disrupt the service or servers

Disclaimer

The calculations provided by CalcTrail are for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaim all warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the calculations for any particular purpose.

Not Professional Advice

Because CalcTrail is free to use at work, these terms are explicit about what a result is and is not. Every calculator applies a published formula to the numbers you enter. None of them knows your circumstances, your jurisdiction, your building code, or your medical history.

  • Financial and tax results are not financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. Lenders, tax authorities, and regulators apply rules a calculator cannot see.
  • Health and fitness results are not medical advice and are not a diagnosis. Speak to a qualified clinician before acting on one.
  • Engineering, electrical, and construction results are not a substitute for a design checked and signed off by a qualified professional. Do not rely on them where safety, structural integrity, or code compliance is at stake.
  • Where a formula rests on assumptions, the calculator carries its own note saying what it assumes and where it stops being valid. Read that note before you rely on the number.

You remain responsible for checking a result before you act on it, and for the decisions you make from it.

Termination

You can end this agreement at any time by deleting your account in Settings → Plan & Data → Danger Zone. That removes the account and everything in it at once, and cannot be undone; the Privacy Policy lists what goes.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves or as legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Post the updated terms on this page
  • Update the "Last Updated" date below
  • For a change that affects what we collect or your rights, say so on the Updates page as well

We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed of the current terms.

Your continued use of CalcTrail after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the service and delete your account in Settings, or ask us to.

Intellectual Property

The CalcTrail platform, including its design, functionality, code, and content, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You acknowledge that:

  • All rights, title, and interest in CalcTrail remain with us
  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission
  • Your use of CalcTrail does not grant you any ownership rights
  • You retain ownership of any data you create or upload to CalcTrail

User Content and Data

You are solely responsible for the content and data you create, upload, or store in CalcTrail:

  • You retain all rights to your data and content
  • You grant us a license to store, process, and display your data to provide the service
  • You warrant that your content does not violate any laws or third-party rights
  • You are responsible for backing up your data (we provide export tools for this purpose)

Service Availability and Modifications

We strive to provide reliable service, but:

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
  • We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes when possible

Third-Party Links and Services

CalcTrail may contain links to third-party websites, products, or services that are not owned or controlled by us. This includes external resources referenced from calculators, guides, and other content:

  • We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, pricing, availability, or practices of any third-party website or service
  • Following a link to a third-party site is at your own discretion; their own terms and privacy policies apply once you leave CalcTrail
  • Any purchase, subscription, or transaction you make with a third party is solely between you and that third party
  • Where we have a commercial relationship with a linked third party, we will disclose it as required by applicable law

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • CalcTrail is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
  • We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which is zero for everyone using CalcTrail free of charge
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CalcTrail and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, violation of these terms, or infringement of any rights of another party.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

CalcTrail is operated by Dilip Borad from India. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. For disputes:

  • We encourage resolving disputes through direct communication first
  • If a dispute cannot be resolved, it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Rajkot, Gujarat, India
  • Where the law allows it, disputes are brought individually rather than as part of a class action or other representative proceeding
  • If you use CalcTrail as a consumer, the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in still apply to you, whatever this section says

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CalcTrail regarding the use of the service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
